Constructive self-criticism over self-flagellation

  • We are only humans. We make mistakes and fail, even when we give our best shot. Better be responsible for your acts than to be guilty of them. No self-flagellation is needed.

  • Self-criticize but be constructive. Give yourself specific recommendations to make positive improvements.

  • There’s no need to be hard on yourself. So, don’t make impossible standards and forgive yourself instead of self-loathing and penance. Be proud and smile at your progress.
